Roseanne Barr has responded to a few of her Roseanne co-stars' tweets that slammed her racist comment about Valerie Jarrett, which led to ABC cancelling the highly rated reboot. Her TV daughter Sara Gilbert - who said on Tuesday that Barr's comments were "abhorrent" - was a frequent target of posts by Barr's supporters, including one who called Gilbert a "backstabber".
On Tuesday, a bewildered nation watched as comedian-turned-conspiracy theorist Roseanne Barr faced actual consequences for her racist tweets, and her show was promptly canceled.
As for her tweet about Jarrett, Barr claimed in other deleted tweets that she believed the former Obama aide was "Jewish and Persian". "They also know there's 100% chance I'd show up at the White House, give him 5 mins to say goodbye & get his crap before I through him & it out the window". When the Twitter user pointed to her previous tweets-and the headlines they inspired-she wrote, "i blamed myself. stop lying". "My joke was in bad taste".
When one fan tweeted that Fox should pick up Roseanne, Barr spoke out.
On Tuesday, Sykes was the first to announce she'd pull out of the show with a short and simple message of disapproval.
