Xiaomi Mi 8 transparent back might be fake

Xiaomi says the Mi 8 will be available in China from as 2,699 yuan (around £315) - which means you can buy three for the price of just one iPhone X.

The cheapest option, the SE Edition, brings a 5.88-inch AMOLED screen and is the first smartphone to use the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 budget chipset.

Talking about the Xiaomi Mi 8, the company has launched a next-generation smartphone that will directly challenge the flagship phones like iPhone X and Samsung Galaxy S9.

It is pricier than the regular Mi 8, costing 3,699 yuan (£433). However, at least the Mi 8 is expected to be launched in select global markets, including India soon.

There's also a special edition of the Mi 8 called the Explorer Edition, which bumps up the RAM and storage to 8GB and 128GB respectively and adds an in-display fingerprint sensor as well as something Xiaomi calls 3D face unlock.

Xiaomi have announced two versions of the Mi Band 3, with the higher-end model sporting an NFC chip that will allow a wearer to pay wirelessly.

Xiaomi Redmi Y2 will be running Android 8.1 Oreo onboard, topped with MIUI 9.5. The Mi 8 comes in four colors - Black, White, Blue and Rose Gold - and, it ships with a 3400 mAh battery that keeps the entire package up and running.

The Mi 8 SE is powered by the flashy new Snapdragon 710 chipset, while the graphics is handled by 616 GPU.

In terms of memory, the device will come with 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 4GB + 64GB internal storage options. The Mi 8 SE is fueled by a slightly larger 3120mAh capacity battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support. This smartphone will be the India-variant of the Xiaomi Redmi S2.
