Early this morning, Simon Aarons tweeted a screenshot of Fortnite data pulled from Nintendo's eShop servers (more here, and a screenshot right on Nintendo's server here) as they prepare for the game's release. The Battle Royale mode will be free to download for the Nintendo Switch from 6pm BST, as it is on other consoles.
Nintendo also announced new games for its console Switch, including a mech-battle action game called Daemon X Machina 2019 and a fantasy strategy game called Fire Emblem: Three Houses, out next spring. Even if you unlink your PS4 from your Epic Games account, you still won't be able to play using that account on Nintendo Switch.
A recent leak suggested that Fortnite Nintendo Switch would be revealed during Nintendo's E3 Direct presentation. But if you're looking to cross-play with your PS4 buddies, that won't be possible as Sony have allegedly blocked any crossplay between the PS4 and Fortnite Switch versions. Boo!
In addition to "Fortnite", Nintendo announced several other new games, including "Super Mario Party", "DaemonXMachina", and a new story pack for "Xenoblade Chronicles 2", all coming in the next 12 months.

It has also been reported that cross-play will be available too, although it will only be with some platforms. "Cross-play and cross progression on Switch work with Xbox One, PC, Mac, and mobile", the company confirmed. Unlike Sony, Nintendo has shown a willingness to allow cross-platform play with Xbox, so we'll have to see if that's something that will be available.
Despite that, this appears to be the ultimate version of the battle royale.
Despite being free, there are 100 tiers of weapons, outfits and gear that can be purchased using the in-game currency called V-Bucks.
