Sony's E3 Showcase Was Disjointed, But Was It What Gamers Wanted?

Sony's E3 press conference continued at a blistering pace.

The new footage demonstrates a prison riot in the legendary Marvel prison The Raft, along with a who's who of Spider-Man's rogues gallery, including Electro, Scorpion, Vulture, Mr Negative and Rhino. Great in concept, and with space for third party announcements between, it's hard to say that Sony managed to pull it off.

Perhaps the most exciting non-comics Spidey property on the horizon though is the new Playstation 4 exclusive video game, simply titled Spider-Man. Granted, since this is a sequel and if you're like me and still haven't gotten around to playing the first The Last Of Us, there will be some minor spoilers inherent in the gameplay, but nothing too insane.

The show begins at 6 p.m. PT. It was impressive and the flawless demo for a game that is surely at the top of many people's wish lists. For now, this is what we know about Ghost of Tsushima.

Separately, Qualcomm is trying to get Chinese approval for its pending US$44 billion acquisition of NXP Semiconductors NV NXPI.O . The government will suspend the 10-year ban but it can activate the ban if there are any violations.

The game definitely screams Sucker Punch with its smooth, seamless gameplay.

He's never really still, which makes sense for the acrobatic Spider-Man. In one of the side activities shown, we see Spidey taking on waves of Kingpin's henchmen on a rooftop, and what's interesting is that several enemies are left to fall to their doom.

Besides the four long presentations, the Sony event hosted a few third party announcements for new games that will be coming to all platforms. But wait, Spider-Man wasn't actually the end of the show!

At the moment there is no release date for Ghost of Tsushima but we hope to hear more about the very unique title throughout the rest of year.
