Donald Trump says he wants Americans to "sit up" and pay attention when he speaks, like North Koreans do with Kim Jong-un - but later watered down his comments, saying they were a joke. "I sometimes say the "denuking" of North Korea, and those are attractive words", Trump said in the video.

"He can now call me if he has any difficulties, I can call him", Trump said.

The joint statement signed this past week by Trump and Kim promises they will work toward a denuclearized Korean Peninsula, but includes no details on how or when weapons might be eliminated or even reduced.

Immediately after the announcement on June 12, U.S. forces in Korea said they had received no guidance on stopping any drills, and South Korean officials said they were trying to figure out which exercises Trump was referring to.

But how did the summit play out in North Korea?

The two leaders inaugurated the much-anticipated event with a handshake at 9 a.m. local time in front of a row of alternating American and North Korean flags, before commencing a one-on-one meeting behind closed doors.
