After Trump's executive order, a host of unanswered questions remained, including what will happen to the children already separated from their parents and where the government will house all the newly detained migrants, with the system already bursting at the seams.

Trump told fellow Republicans in Congress to "stop wasting their time" on immigration legislation until after the November elections. Dems are just playing games.

While both House of Representatives and the Senate under the Republican control, the latter can not pass most legislation without the support of the Democrats.

With President Trump suddenly more antagonist than ally, House Republicans confronted the grim reality Friday that they may have no way out of an immigration mess of the president's own making.

"Republicans should stop wasting their time on Immigration until after we elect more Senators and Congressmen/women in November", Mr Trump tweeted.

Trump himself travelled to Capitol Hill Tuesday to make the case that Congress should pass either of two bills that have been under consideration, and on Wednesday postponed the annual Congressional Picnic that had been scheduled for Thursday at the White House so that lawmakers could work to pass them.

The bill - which failed on a 193-231 vote - would not have provided DACA recipients a path to citizenship. "The separation here is from the facts".

Neither bill was negotiated with Democrats or is expected to garner any Democratic votes.

From October through March, 466 unaccompanied minors in NY were detained by ICE agents - an increase of more than 500 percent. They would fund a wall Trump has proposed along the border with Mexico and also reduce legal migration. Trump's latest tweets could gut that effort.

Elon Musk Says Tesla Secrets Stolen by Staff Saboteur

As Apple revealed at WWDC 2018, iOS 12 is getting a lot of handy new features, but one in particular could be a real life saver. The first is HELO (Hybridized Emergency Location), a system that Apple developed and launched in 2015.

How AMC Theatres plans to compete with MoviePass
It will also be interesting to see if chains like the Alamo Drafthouse follow suit and create their own similar service. AMC's Stub A List Plan is set to launch on June 26 and interested users will be able to sign up via AMC's website.

Merida-Galicia, who is being held in California, is just one of many incarcerated immigrant mothers whose attorneys tell similar stories about chaotic situations in which the mothers don't know where their children have been taken or how to contact them. It features separated children crying and talking about their parents.

"Going forward, they will no longer bring criminal charges against a parent or parents entering the United States if they have their child with them", wrote Maureen Scott Franco, the federal public defender for the Western District of Texas, in an email shown to the AP.

Pelosi said Republicans "have not ever been interested" in a bipartisan deal with Democrats and slammed the so-called GOP compromise bill."It is not a compromise", she said. "Right now we have the dumbest and the worst".

And on Friday morning, Trump ostensibly confirmed that he does not want Congress to pass any border enforcement reforms that nine Senate Democrats would be willing to support. Leadership promised conservatives a vote on the measure in exchange for consideration of the annual farm bill - which hard-line members of the House Freedom Caucus torpedoed last month over their demands for a vote on the Securing Americas Future Act.

Rep. Steny H. Hoyer, D-Md., the second highest ranking Democrat in the House, said the president has rejected immigration proposals even as he's shamed lawmakers to do their jobs.

"We've got to address the issue".

So, unless the White House backs off its "zero tolerance" policy (which it definitely won't), or the courts reverse themselves (which they nearly definitely won't), or Congress takes action, family separation will become USA policy again.

"Everybody is sensitive to what the president is saying", said Rep. Paul Cook, R-Calif., who's undecided on the immigration measure.
