At 41, joy for football still there for Tom Brady

Brady seems refreshed with his break away from the team and video ends with Brady saying he wants to play until he's 45.

Five-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady is in the midst of another drive for five.

The last time the Patriots played the Texans, a 36-33 New England win last September 24 in Foxboro, Tom Brady took a beating, getting hit eight times, sacked on five occasions, fumbling three times, one a strip sack that outside linebacker Jadeveon Clowney turned into a 22-yard second-quarter touchdown. It'll be a challenge for me.

"I think in general kids want to know you care about them and they need your time and energy", he says. Last year's opener started that discussion after a surprisingly good job by Reid and with that in mind, it's hard not to wonder if Bill O'Brien's Texans might pull off another surprise in a similar fashion to how the 2017 match-up went against Houston.

"I think about it more now than I used to".

"Once you stop, you're done". "I'm just focused on what I want to do, and be a great football player for this team and be a good example in the locker room, provide great leadership". So I'm not sure what life would be like without it. It would be like getting close to the top of the mountain and going, 'Ah, it's good.

Teammates believe he'll be able to pull it off.

"I'm very excited", Hopkins said. "So, that just makes him that much more great".

College will not wear Nike after Kaepernick sponsorship
Kaepernick is unsigned by any NFL team, and is now suing the league for allegedly blackballing him over his protests. Davis said in a statement explaining their decision to remove all Nike athletic uniforms and gear.

Last week, Brady cut short an interview on "Kirk & Callahan" after being asked multiple times about his relationship with his trainer and business partner Alex Guerrero.

Brady also touched on a number of other topics: Who his son Jack has at QB on his fantasy football team, the 10th anniversary of his season-ending ACL injury, Colin Kaepernick and more.

Another speculated question around Brady is how much longer he will play in the NFL. Watson, who was the 12th overall pick in last year's draft, threw for 301 yards and two touchdowns, but what he remembers most about that game are the two interceptions he threw. Some of it was my approach.

"I think people are just looking for something to write and talk about. I'm learning to do deal with it better".

"So Tom hit one, his second shot, over [to the right], and I see a starting quarterback, a Super Bowl MVP, a league MVP literally hanging over the side of the cliff probably 200-300 feet above the ocean trying to hit a golf ball that's a pretty meaningless shot because the pro already is going to do better than he would on the hole. But to worry about a lot of (bleep) that people may say or think or feel, like I really don't care".

The veteran quarterback Brady, however, only has a single thing on his mind heading into Patriots' 2018 National Football League regular season opener against the Houston Texans on Sunday, September 9.

Offensive tackle Marcus Cannon (calf) and safety Nate Ebner (knee) were full participants. A bad Achilles will keep cornerback Kayvon Webster from playing Sunday.
