Aaron Rodgers: 'I'm Playing Next Week'

When did Aaron Rodgers think the Packers would win? It wasn't much different following a game against the Cardinals at Soldier Field early in his second season. Surely this kind of scenario couldn't play out for the Bears against a traditionally stout Packers team on their home field? He rather obviously favored his knee and limped around. That doesn't mean he shouldn't roll out of the pocket and extend plays. He caught fire when he returned to the game, throwing three touchdowns and leading the Packers to an exciting win. Rodgers wasn't sacked in the second half, and he was barely pressured, either, thanks to the get-it-out-quick gameplan. "But I knew once I got back on the field and the adrenaline started going, I'd be able to hang in there".

An offensive-minded coach, Nagy had the aggressive Bears' offense pushing the Packers around the field in the first half. Sure enough, Rodgers took the field with the offense for their first series.

Check out the internet's reaction to Smith's huge opening play of the game. Mack made an immediate impact in his first game since the Bears acquired the premier pass rusher in a blockbuster deal with the Oakland Raiders.

"I've talked with one of our guys on the staff at times about whether or not they believe in momentum in the game". We did the tests.

If you listened to Matt Nagy throughout the preseason, the decision might not have been much of a surprise.

Which is what he did. The Bears came out and earned their first 10-point lead over the Packers since 2007, with Bears quarterback Mitchell Trubisky looking sharp. Other Bears inactives were receiver Javon Wims, tackle Rashaad Coward, defensive tackle Bilal Nichols, outside linebacker Kyle Fitts and cornerback Kevin Toliver II.

"I'm playing next week", he told Michele Tafoya. "We gave up six".

Their next drive stalled out in the red zone but did lead to a field goal.

He said: "We're going to take a look at what he (the writer) had, what he gave, what he's talking about also where he is right now".

At 41, joy for football still there for Tom Brady
Teammates believe he'll be able to pull it off. "I'm very excited", Hopkins said. "So, that just makes him that much more great". Brady seems refreshed with his break away from the team and video ends with Brady saying he wants to play until he's 45.

And then he just started to play.

For most of the first half, the Bears used a lot of short passes and outside runs to get their skill players in position to make defenders miss. He also caught five passes on five targets for 25 yards. "It was pretty special".

"It would have had to take something really catastrophic injury wise to keep me out of the second half". He had two opportunities to win the game in the final minutes after outside linebacker Clay Matthews' bad roughing-the-passer penalty.

Many on Twitter were distraught over this development, especially after Rodgers missed so much time past year with his collarbone injury.

The Bears moved the ball in Sunday night's season opener.

That has seldom happened, from too many losses to the Packers and Brett Favre and then Rodgers.
