Khalil Mack was nearly the second big name traded inside the NFC North this offseason.

As it turns out, New England had a deal done with the Detroit Lions before the 2018 NFL Draft, but the trade went to shambles when Gronkowski threatened to retire.

Gronkowski led the Patriots with 1,084 yards and eight touchdowns a year ago across 14 games.

Early last offseason there was major doubt whether Gronkowski would continuing play anywhere, but ended up agreeing to a reworked contract that added $4.3 million in incentives for the season with the Patriots.

Gordon was trying to get acclimated to the Patriots offense while battling a hamstring injury this week. He was like a wrecking ball in the first half of Week 1, delivering a sack, a forced fumble and an interception return for a touchdown.
