Ms Brookes says she moved in the "exact same social circles" as Mr Kavanaugh while at Yale and that the Supreme Court nominees drinking habits were excessive.

There's been a lot of commotion about Brett Kavanaugh's drinking habits recently - and a newly uncovered police report indicates that authorities questioned him once about his connection to a bar fight in 1985.

A report released Tuesday by police in New Haven, Connecticut, says Kavanaugh was questioned after the 1985 incident, but wasn't arrested.

The pair were reportedly in a bar called Demery's when Kavanaugh noted that the man sitting near them looked like UB40 singer Ali Campbell.

Campbell said Monday that the Federal Bureau of Investigation had not reached out to his department regarding the 1985 report, nor has it reached out before that in any previous backgrounding effort for Kavanaugh.

The victim, Dom Cozzolino, told police he had been hit in the ear with a glass by Kavanaugh's friend and Yale basketball player, Chris Dudley.

Kavanaugh has categorically denied any and all accusations, saying last week this was a targeted attack against him motivated Democrats' resentments. Then the New York Times obtained a police report that debunked that claim.

Sams, a lawyer in Atlanta who was a fraternity brother of Kavanaugh and Dudley, said he does not remember seeing Kavanaugh there.

In last week's hearing, Ms Blasey Ford said Mr Judge witnessed Mr Kavanaugh's alleged assault and jumped on top of them as it happened, sending all three tumbling and allowing her to escape. "I would also like to point out that going out never came before working hard and maintaining our focus on our goals".

"On many occasions I heard Brett slur his words and saw him staggering from alcohol consumption, not all of which was beer", Dr Ludington said.

Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) asked that the FBI investigate Kavanaugh's old drinking habits, as well as several other statements by the judge that the senator believes may have been lies.

Former classmates have described Kavanaugh as "sloppy" and "frequently" drunk.

"Brett was a sloppy drunk, and I know because I drank with him", Swisher told the Post.

Deborah Ramirez attended Yale at the same time as Judge Kavanaugh.

Kavanaugh's high school and college drinking career is under scrutiny following claims he made to the Senate Judiciary Committee that he never blacked out from drinking or behaved belligerently while drunk amid allegations that he sexually assaulted at least two women during high school and college.

That bar episode and others were something Ludington didn't find "very attractive" and he found himself drifting away from Kavanaugh as a friend. "And if so, we'll introduce ourselves and say "great show" and maybe share a beer with him, whatever".
