And now today, Samsung has went a step ahead by announcing Samsung Galaxy A9 - world's first smartphone with a whopping four rear cameras.

Of course, there is more to the Galaxy A9 (2018) than just its four rear cameras.

Samsung foldable phone rumours or leaks are not new; they are here from past several years. The first sensor is an ultra wide sensor with 120-degree field of view, f/2.4 aperture, and 8-megapixel resolution.

The quad-lens system on the Galaxy A9 is made up of a main 24-megapixel sensor for generic shots and low light images, and a secondary 5-megapixel depth sensor for blurred backgrounds, otherwise known as bokeh effect.

At the front, the Galaxy A9 2018 handles selfies with a massive 24MP f/2.0 sensor, which also benefits from Samsung's camera features. The Samsung Galaxy A9 will arrive in three colors: caviar black, lemonade blue and bubblegum pink.

The Galaxy A9 will be available in the Philippines on December 1, with a suggested retail price of P32,990. Is this practical or just a marketing ploy? It offers a 2x optical zoom compared to the main camera. Both have a microSD slot that supports up cards with 512GB of storage to stuff with photos. A lot of them are camera-related and that was to be expected from this device.

The Galaxy A9 will cost between €550 and €599 ($635 and $690), according to AllAboutSamsung. The Galaxy A9 comes with 128GB of storage as standard, which is excellent for a mid-range device. There's also an 8GB RAM variant which will be available in select markets. Android 9 Pie-based Experience UI is in development, and it will be coming to the company's flagship phones soon, and the Galaxy A9 (2018) will receive it at some point as well, hopefully before the end of the year, but who knows.

It's unclear when the USA models will be available, or the pricing, but we expect both to be announced very soon.

Along with all of these smartphone snappers Samsung has also included some clever software to help users make the majority.

The third lens is a 120° wide-angle attached to an 8Mp sensor.
