Robert De Niro responds to receiving mail bomb: 'People MUST vote'

A suspect has been arrested in connection with the suspicious packages sent to prominent critics of Donald Trump, officials have said.

The FBI said a package, "similar in appearance to the others" found this week, was addressed to Booker and located in Florida.

A suspicious package addressed to actor-director Robert De Niro was reported early Thursday at the Manhattan building where his production company is based, and its marking and contents appear similar to pipe bomb packages recently mailed nationwide to top Democrats, two law enforcement sources said.

Investigators are nevertheless treating the devices as "live" explosives, not hoaxes, said James O'Neill, police commissioner of New York City where two of the parcels surfaced.

The packages intended for Harris and Steyer were discovered in California and are similar to the other packages, law enforcement sources said. But he said, "Let this be a lesson to anyone regardless of their political beliefs that we will bring the full force of law against anyone who attempts to use threats, intimidation and outright violence to further an agenda".

The mail-bomb spree began on Monday with a device found at the NY home of billionaire liberal donor George Soros.

FBI Director Christopher Wray said Friday investigators had fingerprints of Florida resident Cesar Sayoc and had possible DNA collected from two explosive devices.

The parcel intended for Mr Holder ended up rerouted to the return address printed on all the packages - the Florida office of Ms Schultz.

The packages, containing devices that appear to be explosive devices, began to show up on Monday, starting with billionaire George Soros, a major donor to Democrats and Democratic causes.
