The Denver Broncos traded away long-time and beloved wide receiver Demaryius Thomas Tuesday morning, hours before the trade deadline in exchange for a fourth-round pick and it was received with disappointment and anger on social media from fans and players.

During Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels's brief tenure as Broncos head coach, Denver selected Thomas 22nd overall in the 2010 NFL Draft. "I'll be able to play ball", Thomas said, via NFL.com.

"You never know. Personally I think the young guys are ready to step up behind him and fill that void". With a 3-5 record and a number of teams calling on Thomas' availability, however, it will be hard for the Broncos to avoid trading him considering almost $20 million would come off the books.

Which players for the Broncos could actually be on the move this year?

Sutton, who is fifth on the team in receptions (17), third in yards receiving (324) to go with a touchdown, has averaged 47 snaps per game this season while Thomas has averaged 51 per game and Sanders has averaged 58 snaps a game.

This trade would make so much sense for both parties, no matter how tough it would be for Broncos Country to see Thomas in any other team's colors, even New England's. Belichick has pushed the Gordon tardiness rumors to the side, but can we believe him?

If the Broncos were winning a lot of games and playing at a high level, Thomas would not be going anywhere.
