This has always been a grassroots campaign -powered by more than 1.8 million grassroots contributions from people all across this country.

Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) fired back at a meme tweeted out by President Donald Trump intended to mock the results she publicized from a DNA test meant to prove her Native American heritage.

McDaniel is an operative with deep experience across the South - a potentially decisive region in the upcoming Democratic primary.

"We need big structural change", she said, her voice strained from speaking and the onset of laryngitis. Former Housing Secretary Julian Castro is expected to formally announce a bid soon, and other candidates ― including everyone from former Vice President Joe Biden to California Sen. "We're going to challenge you".

Speculation around Warren running for president heated up over the last several months as she made moves like releasing her college records and a DNA test proving she could be anywhere between 1/64th to 1/1,024th Native American, placing her ancestor six to 10 generations back. "But I still don't know enough about Sen". Though Warren announced the formation of a presidential exploratory committee Monday, Friday's event had all the trappings of a full-blown campaign.

Her exploratory committee already includes experienced campaign hands from various campaigns that enjoyed success in Iowa. In 2016, she worked for Clinton in Iowa and in 2018 was the coordinated campaign director for the Iowa Democratic Party.

On Tuesday, she announced that she will be visiting the following cities in Iowa: Des Moines, Council Bluffs, Storm Lake, and Sioux City.

"That usually doesn't happen".

"We're now in the 13th day of the shutdown, we have hundreds of thousands of federal employees not getting their paychecks and work that's not being done all around this country", said Warren.

"When I first ran for public office, the first time was in 2012, and the Republicans honed in on this part of my history and thought they could make a lot of hay out of it". "She stood up to Trump and. maybe that backfired on her a little bit".
