Watson is the second woman to allege that Fairfax, who has been urged by leaders to step down, sexually assaulted her.

Former Duke student Meredith Watson released statements through her attorney on Friday that alleged a Duke basketball player sexually assaulted her in 1999, according to ESPN.

A little over an hour after news broke yesterday detailing a second accusation of sexual assault against Virginia Lieutenant Governor Justin Fairfax (D), a Northern Virginia Democrat in the House of Delegates began threatening impeachment if Fairfax does not resign by Monday. The Times reported Monday that both a childhood friend of Watson's, and Facebook messages Watson exchanged with another friend, identified the player in question as Maggette, who went on to play 14 years in the National Basketball Association after attending Duke for one year.

I deny this latest unsubstantiated allegation.

In his statement on Saturday, he acknowledges both interactions with the women but says both instances were consensual. "And I also had a number of friends and classmates from medical school that called and said, 'Ralph that is not you" and that was comforting as well".

In a statement released last weekend, Smith said at least two witnesses whom Watson told of the assault "the day after Fairfax raped her" are prepared to testify about her allegation.

"During a recent event at Fort Monroe, I spoke about the arrival of the first Africans in Virginia and referred to them in my remarks as enslaved", Northam said in a Monday morning statement explaining his comments.

Trump sees no summit with Chinese President by tariff date
Trump's remarks came hours after media reports that the meeting was "highly unlikely", citing a senior White House official. If a deal is not struck before then, US tariffs on Chinese goods will increase, barring some sort of extension.

The statute of limitations in MA for criminal allegations of a sexual nature is 15 years, which means local law enforcement in Boston has up until some point in July this year to file charges against Fairfax.

"So now any time anything happens, Republicans get two get out of jail free cards, and any Republican commentator gets two talking points", Watters said. Fairfax is black. Until he was accused of rape, he looked like he might become the next governor of Virginia. That accusation follows one by Scripps College professor Vanessa Tyson. The state's attorney general, Mark Herring, has also admitted to donning blackface in the past.

It's not clear whether he'll be paid by the firm while on leave. I have never forced myself on anyone ever. All 140 legislative seats will be up for grabs in November and Democrats had previously been hopeful that voter antipathy toward President Donald Trump would help them cement Virginia's status as a blue state. I will tell you that later that night I had a chance to step back, take a deep breath, look at the picture and said, "This is not me in the picture, ' " Northam told King.

He said Tyson told him oral sex in particular brought back painful memories of her childhood trauma. "That was a name I knew because I'm a basketball fan".

Impeachment may not be an option, according to George Washington University law professor John Banzhaf. "He certainly wishes them well and appreciates their service to the Commonwealth of Virginia", said his political spokeswoman, Lauren Burke, who is staying on.

"We find that troubling for African Americans in the state of Virginia where we supported the Democratic Party strongly for them to jump to these conclusions quickly without allowing due process and allowing Justin Fairfax to answer to the allegations and each allow the women to come forward if that's what they choose to do", said Thompson.
