Starting at the top of the line, HMD has unveiled the Nokia 9 PureView, which has "the most advanced photography system ever on a smartphone" thanks to five 12MP cameras that it says capture images simultaneously, with the smartphone then fusing them together.

The Nokia 9 PureView is a high (ish)-end flagship with specs that will be familiar to anyone who has shopped for a new smartphone over the past year or so.

The image in question was captured on the phone and shows vast amounts of detail. There's also an LED flash and a depth sensor. Most other multi-camera smartphone setups involve a mix of wide, ultra-wide and telephoto sensors for added flexibility, but not this one.

Samsung's new flagship Galaxy S10 and S10 Plus phones include an Infinity-O display, an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, a triple-camera system and reverse wireless charging.

The top-of-the-line smartphone will ship next week, and is priced at $699.

The Nokia 9 PureView is powered by the Qualcomm SnapDragon 855, coupled with 6GB of RAM and a new imaging co-processor developed Light. You could only purchase this phone with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. Nokia 9 PureView also gives the headphone jack a miss. Nokia has fitted its new flagship with a five-camera array, which is arranged in a circular pattern on the back of the handset. In this case, that means that the Lightroom app for Android has been specifically tailored to get the most control of the unique photo information - what's called a lens profile - for the imagery produced by the Nokia 9's five cameras. We've seen this sort of arrangement before: the Nokia 8 used monochrome and RGB colour in 2017 and Huawei has used it on a number of phones - all the way back to the Huawei P9 in 2016.

Dubai Open: Hsieh wins last six games to upset Karolina Pliskova
In a few of the games I was thinking: 'Maybe I hit the ball pretty well, ' but I wanted to be a little bit on the safe side. She will meet Pliskova in the quarter-finals after the fourth seed battled past Alison Riske 7-6 (7-3) 7-6 (7-5).

The phone features a 3320mAh battery, Gorilla Glass 5 protecting the display, and Android 9 Pie, continuing Nokia's trend of using a pure version of Android without manufacturer skins or add-ons. Nokia 1 Plus carries a price tag of $99.

It has a 5.45-inch IPS display with an aspect ratio rated at 18:9 and comes with support for Google Go apps.

While there's no "portrait" mode per se, you can then use the information from the depth map to get the flawless focus and all the bokeh you want - and using Google Photos you can then easily change the strength of this depth effect.

There's only one: Midnight Blue. Exact availability details have not yet been announced. The back of the phone is home to a fingerprint sensor and a 13MP camera.

Further, the phone features a Snapdragon 439 processor, 3,000mAh battery and either 2GB of RAM with 16GB of storage or 3GB of RAM with 32GB of storage.

Considering its price point, the Nokia 4.2 looks like it offers great value for money with a stylish design, solid performance and a clean Android interface.
