On Tuesday, the police found her auto parked in Strachan Lane in Kingsford.

Investigators found Preethi Reddy dead in her own auto on Strachan Lane in Kingsford about 9.30pm on Tuesday, having been stabbed "numerous times".

The last images police have of Dr Reddy showed her at McDonald's on George Street in Sydney's CBD at around 2.15am on Sunday.

A key suspect in the murder of the Sydney woman has been identified as her ex-boyfriend Harsh Narde, who was killed in a fiery vehicle crash on Monday night.

But in a shocking twist, Narde was found dead on Monday night, the day after Dr Reddy was reported missing, having been involved in a head on collision with a truck near Tamworth in what police believe was a deliberate accident.

The man is believed to be her former boyfriend who was also attending the dental conference, a police source told AAP.

Police had issued a public appeal after the disappearance of the 32-year-old woman.

Police confirmed that Narde was the sole suspect in Preethi's murder and they were not looking at any other person.

"Preethi Reddy was reported missing by her family on Sunday (March 3), after she failed to come home from a dental convention at St Leonards".

"I can not qualify exactly what has happened and I won't put it out there because if we're wrong and it's not substantiated then we're doing a disservice to Preethi and her family", Detective Superintendent Gavin Dengate told ABC News. CCTV footage showed her going to a nearby fast food joint on George Street around 2:15 am and then proceeded to her vehicle.

The man suspected of murdering the Sydney dentist Preethi Reddy, whose body was found stuffed in a suitcase in her vehicle parked in an eastern Sydney street, New South Wales, is another Indian-origin dentist and her ex-boyfriend Harsh Narde, police said.

She had been stabbed "numerous times", they said.

Dr Reddy has not been heard from since speaking to her family about 11am on Sunday. "I spoke to her last Thursday and it was "see you next week" and completely normal", she said adding "Now I am just praying she will be found", Holmes said. "It takes a lot of effort to be a dentist and she achieved it. the family's so proud that they had a daughter like that", Anand told reporters.

Preethi Reddy was apprehensive about attending the same conference as her ex-boyfriend on Saturday. Police say she was found missed in Sydney.

She was captured on CCTV inside the restaurant and appeared to leave alone a short time later.

Preethi's disappearance is "out of character" and there are serious concerns over her welfare, a New South Wales (NSW) Police spokeswoman said.
