'Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge' opening date has finally been announced

The second phase opening date has yet to be announced. And you should know that valid theme park admission to Disney's Hollywood Studios is required to visit Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge after its opening on August 29, 2019.

Disneyland Park in California on May 31, while Disney World in Florida will open on August 29. And one of the rides, Rise of the Resistance, won't actually be open on day one, as Disney said they will "open the land in phases".

Guests at California's Disneyland will be the first to experience the Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge attraction when it opens May 31. The company is building a Tron-themed roller coaster in Orlando's Magic Kingdom and a new Marvel-themed land in California's Disneyland, among other new offerings.

However, the Walt Disney World version won't require or offer reservations.

The 14-acre land, located on part of the grounds where the Studio Backlot Tour used to be, will be an attraction in itself, designed as a settlement on a remote planet named Batuu, its landscape prickly with spikes of petrified trees. Guests staying at one of the resorts on property will have a designated reservation to access the land. Just previous year, Disney guests had to wait hours before entering the brand-new Toy Story Land, and we do not expect Galaxy's Edge to be any different. But the company warned that it expects demand to be high and that Hollywood Studios will stop admitting visitors any time it reaches capacity.

Iger teased some featured elements of the new Star Wars-themed attractions, praising the ambitious complexity of Rise of the Resistance, which is hyped as an interactive experience.
