Tucked under the shell of this device is Apple's latest A12 Bionic chip which delivers a 70 per cent boost in performance and twice the graphics capability.

I've been using the latest 11-inch iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil 2 since its release and it's a great device but too large for my needs. True Tone technology has been added to the Retina Display, and the new iPad Mini has the highest pixel density of any iPad.

The 7.9-inch iPad mini has numerous same features as the iPad Air including the same chip, and a 2,048 x 1,536 display. Both new iPads feature improvements to speed, multi-tasking, display technology, Pencil support, and more.

Apple Care+ for iPad will also provide answers to questions you might have on how to run certain aspects of iOS and iCloud, how to connect to wireless networks, and questions you might have about certain Apple branded apps such as FaceTime, Keynote, Numbers, Pages and more.

As you would expect, the iPad mini 5 updates the processing power of the iPad mini.

The iPad mini didn't change in size; it's still a 7.9-inch tablet with a Touch ID beneath the display.

Apple has quietly announced two new iPad models, the third generation 10.5-inch iPad Air and the fifth generation 7.9-inch iPad mini. However, the revived iPad Air is an entirely different beast, sitting halfway between the old one and the more aspirational iPad Pro models. The new iPad mini also includes support for the first gen Apple Pencil. Also, Apple had always launched the Product (Red) version around this time of the year. The new iPads are available to order starting today and in stores next week. With an asking price of just $69.99 it's considerably cheaper than the $99 first generation Apple Pencil, and it can automatically connect to an iPad in ways the older Apple Pencil cannot.

Amazingly, despite the major internal upgrades it brings, the new iPad mini hits the same entry price point as its predecessor: it's available in a 64GB Wi-Fi model for $399, a 256GB model for $549, and cellular options are a $130 premium. The fifth generation iPad Mini and iPad Air were both announced via a press release by the United States company.

Apple has expanded its tablet portfolio with new iPads. Both offer an aluminium body with curved edges and rounded corners and both come in Silver, Space Grey and Gold colour options. Those who want 256GB of storage and a cellular connection will be spending $779/£749.
