They're also cheaper, coming in at around $70 cheaper than the Powerbeats Pro's $250 price tag. The new Powerbeats Pro "totally wireless" earbuds are designed as gym headphones.

Similar to AirPods, the Powerbeats Pro will ship with their own wireless charging case and use the same H1 chip that debuted in the refreshed AirPods a couple of weeks ago. That simply means that the next iPhone by Apple could share some battery juice along with other iPhones or with new AirPods through its wireless charging case.

The Powerbeats Pro will be available in four colors, Ivory, Moss, Navy, and Black.

Apple had also talked about being able to charge up to three Apple products at once, providing a one-stop charging solution for people to power up their iPhone, AirPods, and Apple Watch. The water and sweat resistant Pros are a significant step up from the existing Powerbeats because they are truly wireless in the same way AirPods are wireless.

As to what kind of seal the Powerbeats Pro have, we'll just have to wait until we can actually get our hands on them to find out.

AirPods 2 look the same, and - with a caveat - they're priced the same, too. Obviously you won't get Siri support, but features like the double-tap gestures and the auto-pause when you take an earbud out of your ear won't work, either. In addition, it features 9 hours of battery life, 40% more than the five hours offered by the AirPods.

The Powerbeats Pros will be available starting in May in the USA and 20 other countries and come in four different colors: black, ivory, navy, and moss.
