China’s fancy new bullet trains started running between Beijing and Shanghai on Monday.
CR400AF departed from Beijing South Railway Station at 11:05 am and headed to Shanghai. Called as Fluxing, it is a CR400AF model takes a sum of five hours and forty-five minutes to reach Shanghai from Beijing. These new trains are created to run at a speed of 350 kilometers per hour, and can even reach a max speed of 400 – faster than any other bullet train in China. On its way, it stopped by 10 stations, including Jinan, Shandong province and Tianjin.
China has introduced the next-generation Fuxing bullet train, which is the first of its kind to be designed and manufactured in the country.
A senior researcher with the Chinese high-speed rail program, Jia Limin told China Daily the Fuxing Bullet Trains would operate on the Chinese network as well as on the Moscow-Kazan high-speed rail line in Russian Federation. The train slows down on its own in case of emergencies or any other conditions.
The train, which is also known as electric multiple units (EMU), had a consistent speed of 350 kilometres an hour and can go up to a top speed of 400 kilometres per hour, according to state-run Xinhua news agency reports.
Along with this, a control center will also be able to keep an eye on the real time because of a remote data transmission.
China Railway general manager Lu Dongfu was quoted by the online publication as saying that the new trains models fulfil all China’s railway standards and are more suitable for the country’s environment and rail transport patterns than previous models.
China has the longest railway network in the world with 22,000km by the end of 2016.
China has nearly sixteen thousand km of high-speed rail tracks and connects most of the city.
