Nintendo Unveils Super NES Classic Edition, Launches Sept 29 with 21 Games

While classics like Super Mario World and EarthBound are included in the bundle, what’s especially interesting about Nintendo’s second retro console launch is that the SNES Classic Edition also includes the never-before-released game, Star Fox 2.

Of course this will look like the European and Japanese version of the SNES with its rounded corners and colourful face buttons.

The SNES Classic comes with 21 games and two wired controllers for $79.99. More news as it develops. Considering the fiasco of the NES Classic Edition, it’d be wise to get a head start and start looking for pre-orders of the SNES Classic Edition console! However, it offered 16-bit graphics rather than the 8-bit graphics in the original NES, delivering far more visual quality than its predecessor.

Like last year’s Nintendo Classic Mini, the SNES Classic Mini will return the design of the original console – it will just be a cuter, small version. Some of the games with multiplayer options include Street Fighter II Turbo: Hyper Fighting, Super Mario Kart, Contra III The Alien Wars and Secret of Mana.

The full list of games available on the SNES Classic is embedded below.

The Super Nintendo Entertainment System: Super NES Classic Edition launches on September 29 at a suggested retail price of $79.99.
