Warriors’ Kevin Durant mocks 76ers for new ‘FEDS’ nickname

Fultz, the 6-foot-4 guard, was selected No. 1 overall in the National Basketball Association draft Thursday night and joined former LSU guard Ben Simmons as consecutive top picks for the Sixers.

There were five trades in the first round, including The Big One: Chicago dealt Jimmy Butler and the draft rights to the 16th pick, Justin Patton, to Minnesota for Zach LaVine, Kris Dunn and the rights for seventh pick, Lauri Markkanen. The Mavericks selected former No. 1 overall high school recruit Dennis Smith Jr. with the No. 9 pick, and he’ll get to run his team against Jackson.

“I don’t know how they knew, but they knew”.

The 76ers acquired the top pick in a trade with the Boston Celtics a week ago, allowing them to move up and select the 19-year-old American. That excitement is why a nickname has already appeared for a group that has yet to play a game together. Fast food probably isn’t a deal-breaker when it comes to where you play in the National Basketball Association.

The 6-foot-5-inch Fultz, whom some consider the best point guard prospect since Chris Paul, told reporters at his introductory news conference that the 76ers are a playoff time right now. Furthermore, 10 of the lottery’s first 11 picks comprised of one-and-done college players. According to data from Adobe Digital Insights, the 2017 NBA Draft garnered 5.6 million social-media mentions, about 11% more than previous year. “This is a tremendous night for the Sixers and our great fans”.

Now for the bad part: The French native, whose team is still playing in a championship series back home, was selected by the Knicks on Thursday night. Kentucky shooting guard Malik Monk would have been a much better pick, too.

But there are some other things that might lead to a little healthy skepticism when it comes to Fultz despite his huge upside.

KD later clarified on twitter that he wasn’t slighting Fultz, Embiid, Dario and Simmons, rather he just isn’t a fan of the FEDS nickname.

It’s the second straight year the 76ers have owned the first overall selection.

So now the 76ers put The Process in the hands of Washington guard Markelle Fultz.

“He used to tweet and retweet my stuff”, Fultz said.
