What Jeren Kendall brings to the Los Angeles Dodgers

Vanderbilt outfielder Jeren Kendall saw his dreams come true tonight as he became a 1st round Major League Baseball draft when the Los Angeles Dodgers selected the All-SEC 1st teamer with the 23rd overall pick.

He had a stellar high school career, compiling an ERA of 1.55 over four seasons at Allatoona High School. “I’m sure our player development staff will starting working on how to improve it”. He also knows how to use his speed on the bases.

Morgan Cooper, the Dodgers’ second-round pick, struck out 110 batters in 89⅓ innings as a redshirt junior for Texas, two years removed from Tommy John surgery.

The Washington Nationals took SC junior right-hander Wil Crowe in the second round with the 65th overall pick ($946,500 slot value). “We love his kind of mean streak on the mound”.

“He’s what you would expect out of a Texas right-handed pitcher – big, strong, 6-5, 220 pounds, really competitive”, Gasparino said. Because he missed all of 2015 while recovering from Tommy John surgery, Cooper was a fourth-year junior this year and is already 22 years old. “Most of his stuff is present. We think a lot of it is already in place”.
